The calibers are totally unrealistic at the minis..I use for boltpistol near 20mm. For the heavy bolters I use between 26-30mm( the difference has only the reason in the material I hadto use, the FK20 belt links for example.)With that links I could use case with max 26mm. The first, complete seldfone ammo made of brass are in 30mm.
It was abuilt about 3weeks, but most in the evenings (Had to earn money in the normal job.. ), 3 whole saturdays..do´nt know the hours...but there was some difficulties with the sizes and proportions...brake me out sometimes..
Well, the minis are heroic scale, massive heads, chunky limbs, the fact that space marines are meant to be 8 feet tall when next to an IG look more like 6'10. So pretty much everything with the minis is out of scale, I admit, the DoK are better scaled but they still have to fit with the rest
You are not the first one, thinking in that way. I do it with refernce from the mini, there are so different in the size to the artwork....for myself I think 30mm diameter is a little tooo much for a shotgun, lol..but its warhammer.. But in emergency, I could load grenades
Ahh..I think I know what you mean. You think the handguard as pump grip to revolve the drum? Right? I thought about it, but was to intense in work to do it, and the whole think would be to instabile. I tricked on this cuase of the missing frame, I ad a bottom frame part below the drum to give stability(the minis had´nt a connection of the body frame below the drum) . I do the handguard section fix in postion, only the barrel is removable, the drum is revolving by hand, to load....
I prefer the trigger/transport system like the double action revolvers. For the pump system some parts would not fit really..but I do´nt know what the designers thought during creating that...its my owninterpretation..
