????? What you mean?...front backback is only worn in front(cause the grave chute is worn on the back) for drop and direct needed equipment, if you have´nt the chance to reach any drop pod. It saves life.. Suit ? Bigger? häää?
No armplates in any way by elysian troops, only elbow protection plates, I had a pair but do´nt use them cause there are very uncomfortable to wear during the weaon handling.
i mean that:[link] or [link] weapon handling is one thing but fighting in unpredictable conditions requires least that some basic protection should be given to top parts of body, not to mention of head or neck. I do understand that Cadians or any "Shock" troops are deployed in warzone but necessary gear should be dropped instantly with them (drop pods) or they should rely on gear that they have ON them ( plasma, melta guns, grenades, backpacks, medkits etc.) War doctrine says that these units should be deployed behind enemy lines or as a support to rear strike force, never as a main s.f. ( this includes guardsman, vehicles, etc. ) I might be wrong.
You are right for kasrkin, cadian shocks if you had a look at my kasrkin equip you see that we wear with that army style full armour..but all minis or artworks shown of elysians had´nt all over armour, the describtions says(imperial armour books) that veterans of the drop drops remove the knee plates after drop for better movement...
The fighting way of elysians is not the same as the cadians...have you ever tried to slide on the ground with kasrkin armour ? I do...one of the badest idea I had. Using cover and be swift and excellent weapons training, (they use no auto firing weapons)are the strength of the droptroops ( in that way I had understood the background) I never read something like drop extra armour in the drop pods.
But in real life , I agree with you all over armour is better than only small chest armour and knee protection
Thank you for the prompt response I know that this helmet does not exist, but I was just thinking that maybe you converted some kind of sports helmet. I am an airsofter and a Warhammer 40K fan, and I am willing to create my own Elysian loadout for active airsofting. Your loadout is, by far, the best reference that I've seen. So I just wanted to get some tips You've put a lot of effort in creating your loadout and it shows.
You could try to do it with a modern style halfcut helmet(like the seals or deltas use) and work with plastic sheets you ad on the base helmet. The problem is, the elysian helmet is very small. But if that works, you could ad cover made of aramide laminate. Its not my way cause I´m a steel nerd and metalworker
this really looks good, you know I am thinking of making a cadian schock trooper but I am confused if making a flamer, heavy bolter, lassgun,or a custom weapon I guess it really doesnot matter what weapon you use for this cosplay or doesit?
Well I have to say your portrayal here is first rate as always your military experience shows through with the way you have your gear set up, at least I think your a serviceman in the military or that's the impression I get. While I am just a fairly well educated civilian your costume looks very good you have the oxygen mask for high altitude drop you have your pack on your front and strapped so it doesn't get in your way or hit you in the face when you jump.
I can't really say anything is missing all thou oddly enough I thought your arms were a bit bare no patches or anything on them. Beyond that it's first rate in my opinion.
Yepp...you are right, you found one of the missing things, I will ad a imperial guard eagle on the upper arm, below of them the patch of the 3.SOG of the elysian 298.Reg. But I must wait for this pieces, cause I can´t get them as single pieces only in packs of 20, its a thing done in the late year, I´m not so in hurry with that. And another missing part are the elbow protections, same style worn on the knees...and a important part, but much work..the gravchute.
And no, I´m not in active service But makes me proud that you think in such a way..
